Description:

Biovitreous is a clear, colorless, biocompatible, inert and sterile liquid useful in vitreoretinal surgery.

Indications:

• It is used as a long-term tamponade in complicated retinal detachments and as an intraoperative instrument for various vitreoretinal surgeries.
• It is a biocompatible solvent for Silicone Oil and is useful in the removal of Silicone Oil adherent to Intraocular Lenses after Silicone Oil tamponade.
• Due to its significantly lower specific gravity compared to conventional Perfluorocarbon liquids its use is more beneficial in retinal translocation and related surgeries.
• it is especially valuable in macular rotation surgery because it presses down on the retina less than the Perflourocarbon liquids, allowing rotation of the unfolded macula without damaging it mechanically.

Composition :

• Each ml contains highly purified Perfluorohexyloctane liquid.
